Window & External Cleaning Contract for the University of Northampton
Helping shine the University of Northampton in the best light possible to its students, staff, visitors, and prospective students.
About the UoN
The University of Northampton (UoN) was established in 2005, with its main Waterside Campus officially opening its doors to students in staff in 2018. The Campus spans across 58-acres with close to 20 buildings on site, so ensuring the cleanliness of all exteriors and windows is a huge priority for the University. Especially given the number of prospective students that visit for the Campus tours they carry out throughout the year.
Their Requirements
The University required bi-monthly cleaning at 17 buildings across the Universities Waterside Campus, quarterly cleaning at 10 other university buildings, and quarterly internal high level window cleaning at an additional 3 buildings. However, sustainability was a key consideration for the project, with the University needing a cleaning contractor that is environmentally and socially conscious.
Clean4Shaw's Solution
With a cleaning project of this size, managing the workloads of the full-time staff took input from both Clean4Shaw and the University themself. As with any large-scale cleaning contract, we approached this flexibility to ensure we found what works best with the client. As a result, both staff members whilst managed by Clean4Shaw Facilities Management report to the Universities Facilities Manager, working with them daily ensuring that a high-quality service is delivered at all times.
Cleaning Services Provided
Alongside our cleaners providing high quality window cleaning, Clean4Shaw also offered a range of external cleaning services, including;
A Sustainable Approach to University Cleaning
Our Environmental Impact
We have a water purification system based on the site, which enables us to minimise the environmental impact of the contract and gives the University access to the system free of charge. We only use environmentally friendly products and adhere to our organisations firm Environmental Policy.
Our Social Impact
As a local organisation based in Northampton, we are passionate about ensuring employment opportunities for local people. Therefore, we encourage our staff team to share vehicles where possible and use public transport if appropriate. The two staff members we based at the university full time both live within the county, with one walking to work daily.
We are passionate about business and support education, with our Director Lee Shaw getting involved and supporting other business initiatives across the University, giving students work experience opportunities where possible.
